Branscombe is a picturesque village
on the Jurassic Coast, which is now a world heritage Site.
A 15-minute walk (passing
12th century St Winifreds Church, a thatched Smithy dating
from Norman times and The Great Seaside Farm dating back
to the 14th century) will bring you to the beach. There
you will find a thatched licensed restaurant, which has
some tables outside.
There is a local bus
service, which goes to Sidmouth/Beer. There is also the
Jurassic Coast coach (X53), which goes from Exeter to Wareham
Dorset, which picks up passengers from local points throughout
the day.

Country
House is owned by Norman & Sue Brewer, who moved from
Dorset after nearly 20 years of running a shop there. Wanting
to escape the rat race Branscombe seemed the perfect place
to "retire" to. Having refurbished Country House
the "B&B" started in July 2004 and is already
a great success. With emphasis on a warm friendly atmosphere.
